- Daily legislative update reports and news sent via email to each NCC member
- Legislative and Regulatory Monitoring and Analysis
- Timely identification, monitoring, and initial issue and political analysis on legislation and regulation of interest in all 50 states.
- Tracking, Education and Outreach
- Timely and succinct transmission of information relevant to activities and status of proposed legislation/regulations.
- Industry and External Grassroots Organizing
- Facilitate information sharing among NCC members via weekly conference calls with supporting materials and quarterly reports and through a minimum of bi-annual meetings. Coordinate resources of NCC members in the engagement of issues of importance to the NCC membership.
- Position Papers
- Generate and update compendium of research materials and white papers for use by NCC members and like-minded groups. As directed by the Coalition, share materials that can be used to educate external constituencies, policy makers and potential allies on issues or legislation of interest
- Development and Implementation of Legislative Strategies
- As needed, identify states with lack of resources and hire and manage local counsel to educate policymakers. This would occur in limited circumstances and at the direction of the Coalition. Develop with NCC members a strategy to promote the positive image of the industry to external constituencies such as public policy groups
- Issues Research
- Research of industry issues and activities to assist with legislative and regulatory activities, and industry compliance with law/regulation changes.
- Media Relations
- Assistance with media relations on industry issues, and act as press spokesperson with media outlets.
- Online Reporting
- The NCC has a members-only online password-coded legislation, regulation and position paper library for member access and use.
