Eligibility
Membership in the Card Coalition is open to those bankcard issuers or networks either directly or indirectly involved in the issuance of credit cards, or those entities with an interest in pursuing sound state policy and regulation that is congruent with that of the Card Coalition and as approved by the Board of the Card Coalition.

The Card Coalition differs from other financial services associations and coalitions in several respects:
- We offer a thorough and cost effective 50-state real-time legislative and regulatory tracking on all issues related to the credit card industry. Our legislative database is updated daily by our experienced professional staff - not only with bill activity and movement, but also with member and lobbyist intelligence. Our members have full access to this database, with multiple search and reporting strategies available.
- We offer real-time 50-state legislative intelligence on all key legislative issues, and the Coalition staff is readily reachable and immediately responsive to members' inquiries and needs. Intelligence is gathered on a daily basis and immediately shared with our members that same day. The Coalition's hands-on involvement with legislative issues on a day-to-day basis provides a distinct advantage to member companies.
- We offer effective, coordinated state legislative strategy development and execution and leverage the payment card perspective on a broad range of issues. We also offer expertise in drafting and executing 50- state lobbying strategies for model state legislation. Working together on legislation, our members have successfully dealt with state legislative initiatives in selective states in a very cost effective manner over the past several years.
- Where necessary, we will retain lobbyists to represent the Coalition on issues where members either do not otherwise have lobbying resources in a state, or additional lobbying coverage is crucial.
